A ground cover fabric, also called landscape
fabric or weed barrier, is a
textile material primarily used to suppress weed growth by blocking sunlight
from reaching the soil, preventing weed seeds from germinating and growing,
while still allowing water and air to penetrate to the plants growing through it; it is commonly used in gardens and landscaping to reduce
maintenance by minimizing the need for manual weed pulling. Note that some weeds for example knot grass can
be quite difficult to get rid of, we therefore recommend that you spray the area
with weedicide and in some cases double the ground cover fabric.
