Mum Macaroni – Twists

Rotini are short, corkscrew-like shaped pasta. The name translates from Italian to “small wheels” and the shape originated in Southern Italy. It is a very similar shape to fusilli but the screw is a bit tighter. This shape is particularly popular with children but is also a useful shape as its twists can capture sauces well. Rotini is recommended to be paired with most sauces, including tomato sauces, oil-based sauces, or cream sauces. It also works well in pasta salads. It also holds meat and cheese well and can work well in a baked pasta dish.
